  Due to unfavorable epidemiological conditions, the 3rd International Competition Giuseppe Tartini will be postponed to the spring time in 2022. The exact date will be announced later.
 
THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL YOUNG VIOLINIST AND PIANIST COMPETITION 2021

The third international Tartini competition of the city of Piran for young violinists and pianists is organized by the Music school Koper, Rotary club Portorož, and KD Ars Magna.

The purpose of this event is to promote our beautiful location and cultural awareness. We aim to organise a scholarship, which will support two of our partner’s projects in the field of culture, to enable young people from low income families to pursue their musical dreams.

The sections Piano and Violin solo are split into 6 competing categories:
- Piano/Violin Category 1: participants born on or after 1 January 2011
 -Piano/Violin Category 2: participants born on or after 1 January 2009
- Piano/Violin Category 3: participants born on or after 1 January 2007
- Piano/Violin Category 4: participants born on or after 1 January 2005
- Piano/Violin Category 5: participants born on or after 1 January 2003
- Piano/Violin Category 6: participants born on or after 1 January 2001

The section Chamber music for strings with piano
or Chamber music for strings without piano is divided into 3 categories:

- Category A: the contestants' average age is up to 12 years
- Category B: the contestants’ average age is up to 15 years
- Category C: the contestants’ average age is up to 19 years
The Chamber group is composed of minimum 3 and maximum 6 performers.

70 places for violin, 70 for piano and 20 for chamber groups with strings.
